I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

TLWTOASP  is a fantastic character driven, slow burn adventure story unlike any other science fiction novel I’ve read before. This book introduces you to a diverse rag tag group of individually fascinating characters. The book includes a mix of aliens, humans, AI’s (and sometimes a combination), I really enjoyed the variety of characters this books presented and the ‘family’ kind of bond that ties them all together. The POV’s are switched from character to character throughout so this really gives the reader the opportunity to become and attached to and familiar with each character and their personality’s.

The plot seemed to take a backseat to the characters but nonetheless I really enjoyed that aspect. The crew travel through space to complete their hardest job yet and the crew face personal and external challenges along the way. The pacing is slow but still entertaining and small pieces of action throughout the plot allow for breaks within the character heavy text. I also really enjoyed how Chambers included the after effects of the violence and how it changed the crew. It’s the perfect mix of political and family  with the added benefit of being set in a spaceship. I definitely recommend picking up this book, it was an amazing read! 🙂
